When I finally recognized my environment, we where at Nestle. Then the driver told me that I suddenly went cold and when he was rushing me to the hospital, I spoke these words: Take me to the church on the outskirts (Kingship) bud I did not remember to have spoken a word – certainly my spirit man spoke. From Nestle to Kingship, there was a thin voice that was speaking in me saying: I will serve you Lord…
When we got to Kingship, I jumped down and ran into the church confessing aloud: I will serve you Lord. The trauma from the encounter plunged me into a deep sleep and when I got up and explained my encounter briefly to the Man-of God, he told me to stay in the church for a while. This was satisfying to me because the encounter I had was frightening.
I called my wife and my secretary, and together with the Man-of-God, I managed to tell my wife what happed and that I will be in the church for some days before coming home. This was not an easy situation for my wife and I understood her perfectly. She cried a bucket of tears. I was broken to see her that way but because of what I experienced, I could not do otherwise. Right there in the church I appointed my secretary to assist my wife in managing the company.
I had preached about 200 sermons as a lay preacher but the thought of becoming a pastor one day had never crossed my mind. The proof is that I went to school and chose the career of an administrator and worked my way to the top. I was seemingly successful and satisfied but we may make our plans, but God has the last word. (Proverbs 16:1 – GNT) I planned to be a Doctor of Business Administration but God’s last word is – YOU ARE A PASTOR!
Another important thing that kept me going was a vision I had one night (Nov. 2012) in which God used the face of Prophet TB Joshua to encourage me. In the vision, Prophet TB Joshua called me into his room, removed a big rubber stamp from his bed drawer with inscription ‘CHOSEN’ on it and stamped on my forehead saying: Continue! Your testimony will be heard all over the world.
For the first four months of my mentorship, I could not go to the road that was in front of the church. Each time I attempted going to the road, energy left my knees and I will be unable to stand and when I entered back into the church or went behind, I felt ok. Certainly, this was happening because God saw that I was not completely convicted and that if He allowed me to go to the road. I may just board a taxi and escape.
For four months, I did not go back home nor to my office. Office things that needed my signature or opinion were brought to the church. My work mates and relations were confused and worried. Some thought I had joined a secret cult and they were after my live and I am using the church as a hideout. Honestly, they could not understand this sudden change.
As days went by, the Holy spirit kept on convicting me about my call and when I finally accepted the call wholeheartedly, I could go to the road without feeling as to collapse.
For four years I lived in the church, going home only once a week. I knew what my wife was going through but I am grateful that the Holy Spirit saw her through. Imagine a young woman living alone in the house with four children for four years.
At my 6th month of staying in the church, I came in terms that I could not run away from the call of God upon my life. I decided to leave my job as a Registrar to concentrate on the things of God.
I abandoned all my projects for Jesus. I thank God for His grace. You can imagine how difficult it could have been for a father of four children who has no steady source of income but Jehovah saw me through. I wish to appreciate all the assistance (in any form) given to me by my mentor.
While in church, I enrolled for some online Bible courses and my performance was so outstanding that I was proposed a scholarship.
As I said earlier; a few days became years but by the special grace of God, I put in my utmost without any reservation despite all the mountains that the devil placed before me. Thank you, Jesus!
According to God’s will in my life, I was exceptionally given the opportunity to lay hands on the sick at the 8th month of my mentorship. In February 2014, my Spiritual Father also gave me the opportunity to preach in a live Sunday service.
